The Group's venture in retail set the trail blazing with a unique and main ingredient in its personal care brand, lambency: Sandalwood, in oil and powder form. Lambency was a natural extension of the Group's core strength in sandalwood, as none can match the high grade of sandalwood found in Lambency.
Ever since the liberalization of the Indian economy in the '90s and the growing FDI, consumerism is on the rise. To add to it is the growing per capita income of the Indian consumer. Service, quality and value for money are key decision influencers for a consumer. In such an environment, Lambency blends in well.
The range offers over fifteen products. A majority of these are 100 per cent pure and natural, while in some it was imperative to add preservatives to maintain a longer shelf life. In the rest, dramatic measures have been taken to avoid use of any synthetic preservatives. One such step is the Group's product manufacturing unit at Sampla, district Rohtak, Haryana. A true hi-tech marvel, this unit is unlike any cosmetics factory. Fully sanitised and bacteria free to ensure the products do not have any residue bacteria in them. Going by the standards, it is nothing short of a pharmaceutical factory in features and processes.
The personal care range will meet competition but what will give it the edge would be the sandalwood in it. The range is promoted through well-rounded media campaigns pan-India.
